Tom O’Toole - Treasurer

om O’Toole retired as the Director of Performing Arts in Shrewsbury last June after a distinguished 39-year career teaching in the public schools of Massachusetts. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Lowell, where he earned a double major in Music Education and Theory/Composition, as well as a Master’s in Composition from the University of Illinois. Tom also holds a Fine Arts Director Certificate from Fitchburg State College.

Throughout his career, Tom has served proudly as Treasurer, Concert Chair, and Band Manager for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association. He is an accomplished trombone and euphonium player, performing with the Metropolitan Wind Symphony, Melrose Symphony Orchestra, Firebird Pops Orchestra, and Gateway City Orchestra.

Recently, he premiered his composition The Ride, commissioned by the WPI Concert Band. His compositions are available at J.W. Pepper. In addition to his musical pursuits, Tom enjoys hiking and kayaking. He resides with his wife Nicole and their two sons.
